Metro Electro helps commercial and industrial businesses cut energy costs through fully funded rooftop solar and battery storage, with no upfront capital required. Thanks to new NSW Government incentives, that offer just got significantly stronger. Businesses that install commercial battery storage now can access some of the largest incentives this scheme has ever offered, and combined with Metro Electro’s zero capital model, there’s never been a better time to move.

The incentive

The NSW Government has amended its Peak Demand Reduction Scheme to include two new tiers, BESS4 and BESS5, aimed squarely at commercial and industrial battery storage at scale. Previous incentive tiers were modest. These two open up meaningful funding for businesses running larger sites, from single warehouses to multi-site logistics operations.

The numbers make the case on their own:

  • BESS4 (20 to 200kWh): approximately $44,000 off a 200kWh system
  • BESS5 (200kWh to 30MWh): over $1M in incentives for a 5MWh system

For a mid-sized commercial site, this can mean tens of thousands of dollars off the cost of a battery system that would otherwise sit well outside the budget. For larger industrial operations, the incentive scales with the system, making even multi-megawatt storage genuinely achievable.

How Metro Electro makes it work

You don’t need to spend a cent to take advantage of it. We fund the entire system and sell you the energy it produces, so cheaper, cleaner power flows directly to your business. How that saving flows through your operations is up to you.

  • Zero capital. We fund, install and operate everything.
  • Lease friendly. Landlord approved, no make good at exit.
  • 20 to 30% below grid rates from day one.
  • Built for your site, matched to your demand profile.

If you operate a warehouse, factory or logistics site in NSW, the window to lock in these incentives is open now.
